Hi there! My name is Lindsey Turner and I’m so excited you’re here! This online home has been a long time coming and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome you to my new photography website and blog.
Where my journey with photography began…
I started taking pictures when I was five years old. You could tell that I’d taken the photo because of my vantage point! My interest grew, I got my first 35 mm Nikon and photographed my friends and documented my family’s vacations.
I was fortunate to have a wonderful photography teacher in high school who worked with me to create independent studies each semester after I’d taken every class he offered. I would spend hours in the dark room (this was before digital cameras people) and the thrill of seeing an image come to life in the developing bath never got old!
I went on to college, studied music, recorded a jazz album, worked for arts non-profits for over 15 years and finally took a chance on something that I’ve always loved — photographing people. Putting people at ease and allowing them space to be themselves — eliciting an honest expression — that is my superpower.
What I do and Why
I photograph newborns and families in their homes and in beautiful outdoor spaces. I also photograph musicians, artists and small business owners so the quality of their work is reflected in their visual presence. I called Brooklyn, NY home for almost a decade and love returning to photography people there. I also work in Litchfield County, CT where my husband and I both grew up and we’ve returned with our son.
