Are you pregnant and thinking about documenting your newborn at home but worry that your house or apartment is too cluttered, too small, doesn't look like a magazine feature, [insert concern here]? Not to worry -- all I need is a window and your sweet little family and I've got you! You have enough to think about right now.
Family photography should be fun and something you look forward to each year, not feel stressed about! Gone are the days of stiff and boring portraiture. A session with me is an opportunity to truly connect with your loved ones. And of course you create lasting memories of what life looks like right now because it goes so quickly.
After you welcome a new baby home you want to focus on taking care of your new tiny person, recovering yourself and settling into your new “normal” as a family. If this is your first child everything is a new experience. This is why I love coming to you where you’re most comfortable and we can go at your pace to capture this precious fleeting time. Envision your family photographs as art in your home. I encourage you to exist in photographs, not on your iPhone, not on a DVD or USB (neither of which I can even use on my new computer by the way), a hard drive that might crash, the cloud, but in actual printed photographs!
It’s normal to look ahead this time of year. Whether that means baking all the cookies or prepping for a BIG celebratory meal, it’s perfectly normal to have a seemingly endless to do list. But I want to challenge us (especially, those of us who hustle for tomorrow like it may never come) to focus on spending this holiday season in the right now.
It’s hard to believe we all began this tiny. Having a child shifts your life in ways you can’t possibly prepare for or grasp. In the early days you sleep in shifts and your needs fall to the bottom of your priority list. The very bottom. When I had my son I started listening to The Longest Shortest Time podcast in it’s infancy and it was a lifeline.
